I found this jacket to be too fitted for comfortable wear. Instead of having a slight curve at waist it is fitted around, and the sleeves are narrower than necessary. I need to add that I am not a big woman and yet this jacket, as compared to other Columbia styles, is made to be more form fitting. Not a good feel for a rain jacket that you want to be airy and light feeling. I had to return it and will have to spend the cost of return postage to do it. Wish someone else had noted this fit.

First let me say that this is not my only winter jacket and that I purchased it for the stylish and fur hood. I am a size twelve, so I ordered the larger one, I decided to have it altered to fit. Likes: more length on it then most coats so it is warmer; hood looks great and gets tons of compliments; warm because of high down feather content; deep zippered pockets are warm for hands and good storage. Dislikes: lower half of jacket is flared and must be taken in to ensure warmth; hood is too large and flies off when windy; occassional feather leakage. Even with 180$ additional costs it was less than the" in department store" version. But in a snowstorm I definitely grab my other hooded coat instead of this.

For those of you who may be considering this Moncler Women's Alpin Alpes Down Jackets Navy knowing my measurements my help you decide what size to order.I have ordered it in the extra large. Hopefully the extra large will be fine. However, I bet it will be roomy in the waist and hips but I can live that.
